Description: Fabulous rosewood Rococo Victorian table with a gorgeous swirly fossilized marble inset top. There is a carved rope molding around the edge with carved flowers in the four corners. The curved and shaped skirt has a fine three dimensional central carving on all four sides with applied carvings on the top and bottom. The cabriole legs are carved. There is a sensational solid rosewood carving with fruit in the middle of the stretchers. The table sits on the original brass castors. This style with the gadrooned edge and fossilized marble is characteristic of the tables made in Philadelphia during this period. Notice the lovely grain of the rosewood! There is a very small restoration to a piece of carving on the skirt. This is one of the best such tables we have ever offered for sale!
