Inlaid Walnut Music Stand

Description: Stylish Renaissance Revival walnut Victorian music stand. It has a very fancy open carved crest. There are two front panels that swing out on chains to hold the music (or newspapers and magaizines). These flaps are beautifully decorated with burl, inlay with a musical theme, and gilt incised carvings. The entire supporting frame has retained the original gilt, ebony, and polychrome decorations. The red and bluish-green polychrome colors are especially exciting since they are seldom found. A similar stand from the Lightner Museum in Florida is shown on page 91 of "Styles of American Furniture 1860-1960" by Eileen and Richard Dubrow. This is a great example of the Renaissance Revival style!

Circa: 1870
Dimensions: 49"H x 27"W
Finish: Good original patina and decoration
Price: $4250.00
